Biographical Information

Catherine Nemetz Clutter joined the School of Law as a legal writing instructor in 2017. She teaches courses on legal writing and writing for judicial clerkships, as well as an advanced drafting course.

Clutter previously worked as UGA's pre-law director and served as an adjunct faculty member. As the pre-law director, she advised students and alumni on all matters pertaining to admission and attendance at law school, as well as developed programming and the annual law school fair. She also taught an undergraduate Environmental Law course, a freshman Learning Community and the business sustainability study abroad course. She worked as an associate at the Savannah law firms of Bouhan, Williams & Levy, and Painter, Ratterree & Bart, focusing on business litigation and professional liability and at Blasingame, Burch, Garrard and Ashley in Athens with a focus on plaintiff medical malpractice cases.

Clutter earned her bachelor's degree cum laude and her law degree magna cum laude from UGA. During law school, she was a member of the editorial board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
