Biographical Information

C. LaTain “Tain” Kell Sr. retired in May 2022 from his role serving as judge of the Cobb County Veterans Accountability and Treatment Court, which works to divert eligible veteran defendants with substance dependency and/or mental illness that are charged with criminal offenses. He also served as a judge for the Cobb County Intermediate Drug Court. Prior to his work as a judge, Kell was a partner with Brock, Clay, Calhoun & Rogers and held positions with Troutman Sanders and the Georgia Office of the Attorney General.

Kell earned both his bachelor’s degree cum laude and his law degree from UGA. He is currently a master’s candidate in judicial studies at the University of Nevada, Reno/National Judicial College.
