Congratulations to third-year students Erik B. Chambers, Shemanne T. Davis, Andrew J. King and Sean M. Malone for delivering a standout performance at the National Emory Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition. Davis, who was named best oralist, and her partner Chambers, who was named 3rd best oralist, advanced to the semi-final round of the tournament where they were narrowly defeated by a team from St Mary's School of Law.

Bo Rutledge named to The American Law Institute

Associate Professor Peter B. "Bo" Rutledge has been elected to join The American Law Institute. The Institute (made up of a select number of lawyers, judges and law professors) drafts, discusses, revises and publishes Restatements of the Law, model statutes and principles of law that are influential in the courts and legislatures as well as in legal scholarship and education.

UGA Homecoming Week packed with activities for students, alumni and fans

"Heroes of the Hedges," is the theme of this year's Homecoming Week festivities, which begin Oct. 10 at the University of Georgia. Activities for students are scheduled throughout the week, and the weekend is filled with events for alumni. The School of Law's graduating classes celebrating an anniversary reunion are invited to return to the law school on Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. for a buffet dinner. The next day, all alumni are invited to participate in the school's 20th annual homecoming barbecue, which will begin two and a half hours before kickoff.
