Distinguished Research Professor & Shackelford Distinguished Professor in Taxation Law Emeritus Walter Hellerstein published “State Taxation of Cryptoassets: Key Concepts and Emerging Guidance" in 110 Tax Notes State 627 (2023) (with A. Appleby).
Distinguished Research Professor & Shackelford Distinguished Professor in Taxation Law Emeritus Walter Hellerstein’s treatise State Taxation was extensively quoted in a concurring opinion in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision in Zilka v. Tax Review Board City of Philadelphia (Nov. 22, 2023) regarding Commerce Clause restraints on the state taxation of the personal income of residents working and taxed in local jurisdictions in other states.
